Scoot Jennings, the former special assistant to president bush, in an oped to CNN on Friday, exposed Former president Obama for allegedly going “soft” with the Russians, thus condoning their interference in the 2016 election.

The Mueller report flatly states that Russia began interfering in American democracy in 2014. Over the next couple of years, the effort blossomed into a robust attempt to interfere in our 2016 presidential election. The Obama administration knew this was going on and yet did nothing.[…] Why did Obama go soft on Russia? My opinion is that it was because he was singularly focused on the nuclear deal with Iran. Obama wanted Putin in the deal, and to stand up to him on election interference would have, in Obama’s estimation, upset that negotiation. This turned out to be a disastrous policy decision.

Blasting Obama, Scoot Jennings also said: now that Mueller’s report have proven there was no collusion between the Trump Campaign and Russia, the question remains “why this collusion narrative was invented in the first place.”

The Obama administration also came under fire by RNC and President Trump.
The RNC said even though the Obama administration knew of the Russia interference long before the 2016 election, it did nothing to stop them. Adding that the bottom line of the Mueller’s report is Trump didn’t collude with the Russians and that Obama “failed” to respond when he saw Russian meddling.
