On Thursday, during an exclusive interview in Anchorage, Alaska, CBS News chief legal correspondent Jan Crawford asked Attorney General Barr to comment on the recent claims made by former special counsel Robert Mueller. A claim Barr debunked, exposing Mueller for his true intentions; ‘To breath life into Dem’s push for impeachment’.
In his first public statement Wednesday, Mueller said that charging President Trump was “not an option,” reason he said was due to the “Department of Justice policy” which states that a president cannot be charged with a federal crime while in office.
Calling out Mueller’s BS, “I personally felt he could’ve reached a decision,” Barr said. Referring to the Justice Department policy, Barr said that “The opinion says you cannot indict a president while he is in office, but he could’ve reached a decision as to whether it was criminal activity, but he had his reasons for not doing it, which he explained and I am not going to, you know, argue about those reasons.” Barr added
At some point, rebuking Mueller’s claims and suggestions, Barr said Thursday that he did not know what Mueller was “suggesting” in his statement, but “the Department of Justice doesn’t use our powers of investigating crimes as an adjunct to Congress.”
